Let's Have a Look at Pikachu's Attractions in PokePark Wii
Make friends with visiting Pokemon and try these mini games.
Pikachu is in the starring role for the Wii's latest Pokemon game, PokePark Wii: Pikachu's Big Adventure. Pokemon Co. has been saying that Pikachu would be teaming up with other Pokemon and playing through "attractions" of some form. Today, we got a close look at some of those attractions.
PokePark Wii takes place in PokePark, an amusement park that's visited by Pokemon. The park is divided into zones, each containing attractions. You'll have to first make friends with visiting Pokemon, then team up with them to tackle these events.
Here's just a few of the events that you can expect. I've tried to put the names in English wherever possible.
Rhyperior's Push Heat Up
You and rival Pokemon ride little devices atop a circular play field. Attempt to bump into your rivals and knock them off.
Gyarados's Marine Slider
A time attack jetski-style atop the water. Aim for the fastest time by accelerating and skillfully avoiding obstacles.
Salamence's Super Sky Race
A flight shooting game where you shoot down targets.
Bulbasaur's Furi Furi Dash
A race between Pokemon. Shake the Wiimote to accelerate.
Venusaur's Swing Rope
Jump as far as you can when swinging from a rope. Timing is everything here.
These attractions can only be challenged by certain Pokemon. You'll have to make friends with the proper types first.
To make friends with visiting Pokemon, you make use of another set of mini games. Sample offerings include Battle, Tag, Quiz, and Athletic. In Battle, you use of Pikachu's 100,000 volts of electricity to show who's boss. In Tag, you have to chase your rival down an obstacle filled course and attempt to make contact.
You can see more screens of these pre mini games at the PokePark Wii official site.
PokePark Wii hits on December 5.
