Celebrate PSP go's release with PSP release dates
How many downloadable games hit opposite Sony's new download-only hardware?
Sony backed the PSP go's Japanese launch with a flood of releases, mixing the new and old.
On the new side came Persona 3 Portable, Echoshift, Dissidia Final Fantasy Universal Tuning, MotorStorm Raging Ice, Disgaea Infinite, LocoRoco Midnight Carnival, and PixelJunk Monsters Deluxe.
On the old side... well, the list is just too long. Sony and its third parties have been gradually releasing direct download versions of the PSP's software catalogue. PSP go's launch day saw the release of over 20 downloads, ranging from early PSP offerings like Ridge Racers, to download versions of Persona 3 and Dissidia.
To commemorate the big launch, I've added a new PSP section to this site's release calendar. View the chart to see the latest PSP releases along with what's on the way. The data is fully up to date, so you're getting an accurate look at what's known to be on the way.
Due to the abundance of download releases on the PSP, I've aded a new feature to the release calendar. Above the list, you can click a button to toggle between showing and hiding downloadable games. This is only available for the PSP right now. It will hopefully make the list a bit easier to read.
The release calendar also has links to PlayAsia and Amazon.co.jp for those who'd like to pre-order or buy the games. Yes, this is me totally selling out!
While browsing the PSP list, do be sure and stop off at the PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii lists. These have also been updated with the latest dates.
