Playable Final Fantasy XIII Hits Tokyo Later This Month

One more chance to sample the holiday season's biggest PS3 title ahead of release.

Players will have one more chance to sample Final Fantasy XIII ahead of its December 17 release. Sony detailed the next installment of its Experience! PlayStation event series today, and Final Fantasy XIII will be headlining with a playable appearance.

Experience! PlayStation is a series of nationwide events that Sony has been holding since last year. The free event, usually held in public spaces like train stations and airports, offers visitors a chance to try out PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Portable. While the playable lineup usually consists of already released titles, playable debuts have included such major titles as Afrika and Tales of VS.

The next installment of the event will be held on November 23 (a holiday) at the Sunshine City shopping complex in Tokyo's Ikebukura area. Osaka and Nagoya events will follow on, respectively, the 28th and 29th.

Joining Final Fantasy XIII will be playable builds of Ratchet & Clank Future 2, Winning Eleven 2010 and Dragon Ball Raging Blast. PSP will see Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep, Phantasy Star Portable 2, Naruto Narutimate Accel 3, Dynasty Warriors 6 Empires, Gundam VS Gundam Next Plus, and Gran Turismo.

It's unclear what form of demo players can expect for FFXIII. The game was previously playable at September's Tokyo Game Show.
