Nintendo Details Zelda Spirit Tracks' Characters and Actions

Lots and lots of videos of Link's latest adventure.

Nintendo gave the Zelda Spirit Tracks official site an update today, adding something that was lacking when the site opened last week: content!

Now accessible at the site are sections titled A Legend of Zelda You Play with the Stylus and Characters.

The character section provides looks at Link, Princess Zelda, Shirokuni (an engineer who shows Link the ropes as a train engineer) and Niko (an old man who lives with Link and makes "kamishibai," or stories told via picture cards).

Videos in the character section show (from Link through Niko): Link's swearing-in (as an engineer) ceremony, a conversation where Zelda asks Link to lead her to the "God's Tower," the morning of the swearing in ceremony where Shirokuni has to force Link to get up, and Niko's latest work, "Great Battle Between God and the Devil."

The stylus section has videos showing off running, striking with your sword, and using Boomerangs and other items. It all looks like Phantom Hourglass to me, which is a good thing because I loved Phantom Hourglass's controls.

Currently inactive sections include "Adventure," "Solve Puzzles through Connective Play," "Solve Puzzles with Items," "Solve Puzzles with the Train," "Snapshot of the Adventure," "Wireless Play," and "???". I haven't been keeping up with all the overseas developments on Zelda (it's coming out first outside of Japan), so you'll have to check for yourself if there are new gameplay hints in the above.

Zelda arrives here on December 23. As previously detailed, Nintendo will be giving early buyers a feather stylus and rupee case present. I've heard that the case is going to be in limited supply, so perhaps pre-ordering will be a good idea.
