Give Your Wiimote Pikachu Stylings

A look at PokePark Wii's bonus item. Plus, the latest PV and gameplay details ahead of Saturday's big release.

New Super Mario Bros. Wii proved that Wii games can still sell massive numbers. Now it's Pikachu's turn to provide further evidence as PokePark Wii: Pikachu's Big Adventure sees release on Saturday.

I'm still not entirely sure why Pokemon and Nintendo went with the Saturday release, as that's something that's usually reserved for hardware launches or super mega ultra game releases like numbered Dragon Quest or Final Fantasy games.

There is somewhat of a hardware launch accompanying PokePark. Buyers will get this colorful Pikachu-themed Wiimote cover sticker:

The image doesn't show it, but this is one of those high tech 3D stickers. Based off the direction that you turn it, the image will apparently look like it's in 3D.

Outside of the bonus item, Pokemon is planning a series of demo events. Events will be held from 12/5 to 12/6 and from 12/12 to 12/13. The list of locations can be found at the event notice page. Participants will get a stand which is presumably meant to hold Wii gear.

Pokemon also provided its latest look at PokePark Wii, including a horribly cute movie clip. You can stream the clip here:

The announcer notes that you can freely run through PokePark. It looks like you'll be doing more than just selecting mini games from a menu here. The announcer promises a huge, varied world.

Screenshots shared today provide a look at five additional attractions on top of the ones that were introduced a few weeks back:

Blaziken's Punching Rocks
Shake the Wiimote with good timing to destroy the rocks that Blaziken throws at you.
Empoleon's Snow Rider
A time attack where you slide down an icy slope.
Dusknoir's Classic Running
A running race where you must also destroy objects lining the course.
Absol's Tsugi Tsugi Hurdle
A race for the fastest time as you leap over obstacles, including Dugtrio.
Bastiodon's Panel Crush
Toss balls at panels for points. The speed of the balls gradually increases.

One additional feature that Pokemon previously did not touch upon was the inclusion of a password system. Input special passwords into the game, and you'll get in-game items.

The first password is "78872252." Input this, and you'll get a Surfboard item. This can be used take part in the Marine Slider attraction even without a water Pokemon:
