Platinum Games Kills CPUs with First Countdown of 2010
Bayonetta and Madworld developer counting down to an announcement for later this week.
One of 2009's key terms was "countdown," as publishers everywhere attempted to not just announce their game, but count down to the announcement, and sometimes even count down to the countdown itself.
For the two of you who actually enjoy countdown teases, 2010 is off to a great start thanks to Bayonetta and MadWorld developer Platinum Games.
Over the holiday period, the Osaka-based studio reset the front page of its corporate website to a teaser countdown site. And not just any old countdown. This thing will make your CPU sweat blood!
My computer totally couldn't keep up with the site so I'm not sure what to make of the numbers, but some have suggested that the countdown will come to an end at noon on January 8. That could possibly mean a reveal in this week's Famitsu, along with the usual early leaks and such.
CPU killing countdown sites weren't all Plaitnum was busy posting over the holiday break. The Platinum Games official blog was updated with notice of an official fan event that will allow gamers to meet with the Platinum staff.
The blog post doesn't have specifics on when and where this event will be held and whether or not Kamiya will offer his smooth head up for fan rubbing. But it does have an image showing a Platinum Games greeting card that I presume went out to business partners.
According to the blog, the card is plastic. Although shown black in the image, the Bayonetta side is actually transparent.
