Zelda Spirit Tracks was the top selling DS game last week, but it failed to sell even half its stock.

As reported earlier, Nintendo dominated the year-end sales charts thanks to long sellers like New Super Mario Bros. Wii and new releases like Zelda Spirit Tracks. Nintendo's dominance wasn't limited to just software, though. Hardware sales data released today by Media Create show Nintendo platforms way at the top in the hardware race.

Wii lead the way for the week covering December 21 through December 27, its 215,000 units outselling the nearest competing hardware, DSi, nearly two to one. Of course, the race is bit closer if you add in DSi LL and DS Lite sales.

In Sony hardware, PS3 saw a significant drop from the prior week's Final Fantasy XIII launch, but still managed over 110,000 sales. PSP sold 106,000 units. PSP go didn't contribute much, selling under 5,000 units for the week.

Here's the full hardware chart:

  • Wii: 215,129
  • DSi: 113,984
  • PS3: 110,519
  • PSP: 105,801
  • DSi LL: 81,430
  • DS Lite: 17,695
  • Xbox 360: 6,489
  • PSP go: 4,192
  • PS2: 3,747

Media Create also provided some software stats to go along with the sales figures that were shared earlier in the week.

Zelda Spirit Tracks, which placed second for the week with 291,000 units, matched Phantom Hourglass's 303,000 start. However, that title sold through 86.94% of stock at its June 2007 debut. Spirit Tracks, in contrast, managed a 47.11% sell through. Some humor blogs (Hachimaki, My Game Flash, etc.) have been poking fun at supposed bargain bin prices that have been appearing for the game since its release.

Final Fantasy XIII saw a huge drop this week, selling just 12.99% of its first week total. This drop off is similar to past FF games. XII fell to 13.47% in its second week. X-2 fell to 12.24%.

Despite the drop, FFXIII is still having an effect on the PS3 platform itself. This system's 111,000 units this week represents a 240% jump over the same week last year. This is the largest year-to-date increase for any of the current platforms, Media Create notes.
