GTI Club World City Race Detailed

Bet you've never played giant car soccer before.

I wrote about GTI Club World City Race in this week's Puchifami article, but here are some additional details to go along with the screens that Konami distributed today.

GTI Club World City Race is a PSP and Wii racer that's based off a 2008 arcade title. The game puts you behind the wheel of real world compact cars for a variety of races set in European city environments.

You aren't just racing through traffic, though. Sample events include car-based tag, where one car attempts to avoid getting hit by other cars. There's also a car soccer game, with your cars dribbling, passing, and shooting a giant soccer ball.

The game includes 16 cars, all with their real names. Samples include Mini, Fiat 500, Volkswagon Polo and Renault Megane. You can customize your rides in a garage using parts.

Wii owners have multiplayer to look forward to. In addition to four-way split screen, the game will also support Wi-Fi Connection for four player competitive and cooperative play. Konami hasn't provided details on the PSP version's multiplayer support.

GTI Club World Race will hit the PSP and Wii simultaneously on February 25. The Wii version is a retail release that's priced at ¥4,980. The PSP version is download only and will sell for ¥3,800.
