Square Enix shared today first details on this year's installment of its annual Final Fantasy XI offline fan event, VanaFest.

Fully titled (translated into unofficial English) "VanaFest 2010 It's the 8th Anniversary! All Members Gather," this year's event will be held on February 28 at Tokyo's Nippon Seinen-kan Hall. The event will open its doors at 16:00, kick off at 17:00, and end at 20:30, making for some three hours of Final Fantasy XI news and fun.

Square Enix has the usual set of events planned for the event, including a special talk session with the development and management staff. The latest Final Fantasy XI news will be announced here.

Other planned events include a mini live, Real Mog Bonanza (a live version of a number guessing game from the game), and a "Secret Bonus Stage" concerning (probably) Final Fantasy XIV.

Attendees will get some sweet items, including a Chocobo cap (just an in-game item -- pictured somewhere on this page) and an exclusive Final Fantasy XI towel. There may be other bonus goodies as well.

To attend VanaFest 2010, you'll have to put your name down at the special VanaFest 2010 page between today (1/15) and 1/22 at 23:59. Square Enix will hold a drawing, with 1,114 lucky fans gaining free entrance to the event.
