Sega announced today that it has signed a contract with Takara Tomy to bring Transformers Animated to arcades. Sega will be developing a kids card game (presumably along the lines of the Mushi King series) based off the animated series for domestic arcade release some time in the summer.

Transformers Animated is the latest animated series to depict the battle between the heroic Autobots and the evil Decepticons. The show began airing in the US in 2007 and will debut in Japan in April.

Sega did not share details on the new game today.
