Sony Fails to Resurrect Michael Jackson For This is It PS3 Launch Event
Discyu's Jack does his best to cover for missing pop legend.
Sony managed to successfully release a limited edition PlayStation 3 system with Michael Jackson's famous profile on the box. But they did not manage to successfully resurrect the pop legend for the system's weekend launch event.
Instead, they got this guy:
Sony held the first in a series of PlayStation 3 Michael Jackson "This is It" Special Pack launch events on the 30th in Akihabara. Famitsu.com provided a full report, along with the above shot.
The Michael Jackson impersonator is Jack from Discyu, a group that, according to the site, respects Jackson (that's "respect" written in English). Jack and his fellow Discyu members performed the Thriller dance in front of the giant Akihabara Yodobashi Camera.
The event also had an appearance by comedy group Dainao, consisting of Daisuke Nomura and Naoya Kawaguchi. The two introduced passersby to the PlayStation 3 hardware, but apparently forgot their face powder at home.
