PS3's Big Spring Titles Have Big Hard Drive Installs

You'll have time for a long bathroom break before playing Yakuza 4 and Resident Evil 5 Gold Edition.

Better free up some space on that hard drive if you plan on picking up the PS3's biggest games this Spring. You're going to be stuck with some mandatory installs.

Dummy boxes have started appearing at retail for Yakuza 4 and Resident Evil 5 Alternative Edition (known as Gold Edition overseas). Both titles appear to require fat installs.

Resident Evil 5 AE's box lists 6,000 MB of space for its mandatory install. This shouldn't come as a surprise, as the original RE5 had a mandatory install too.

Yakuza 4 requires 5,127 MB. This also isn't too much of a surprise, as Yakuza 3 had a big install.

Other mentions on the Yakuza 4 box include Trophy support, the availability of two player mini games, and compatibility with online updates.

The Yakuza 4 box also has a "Double Fusion" logo. This is an in-game advertising feature that Sega announced for the game a while back.
