Hatsune Miku Project Diva Set for PS3
Sega planning high end expansion that will let you play the PSP game on your console.
Sega held a Hatsune Miku concert event in the Zepp Tokyo event space in Odaiba today. Joining performances by your favorite "Vocaloid" virtual idols, Sega also managed to make a number of announcements for the Project Diva Hatsune Miku game series.
Project Diva Arcade was first title highlighted. The arcade adaptation of the PSP Project Diva Hatsune Miku rhythm game was shown in full playable form at AOU. See our playtest here. At today' concert event, Sega announced a late June release date.
Sega also gave a general look at PSP's Hatsune Miku Project Diva 2nd. This title was announced last week. You can see screenshots here.
The original PSP Hatsue Miku Project Diva isn't done yet, though. March 25 will see the release of a song expansion titled Hatsune Miku Miku Uta Okawari. This ¥2,000 yen pack includes nine songs, a side scrolling action mini game titled "*Hello Planet," PSP custom themes, and more.
This first expansion will be followed by a second this spring. Titled Motto Okawari Rin, Len, Luka, the DLC will include at least 12 songs from the three counterpart Vocaloids that appear in its name.
The final announcement from the event was for Hatsune Miku Project Diva Dreamy Theater. Sega describes this not as a PS3 game, but as a download expansion for the first Hatsune Miku Project Diva that lets you play the game on the PS3. According to various reports from sites that were in attendance at the event, a video showed the PS3 controller being used to control an on-screen Hatsune Miku whose quality matched the level of the Project Diva arcade game. A final release period and pricing were not announced.
