Another Yakuza 4 promotion that will get you carded
Yakuza 4 gets a karaoke shop. A karaoke shop gets some Yakuza 4 drinks.
Is it just me, or has there been somewhat of a running booze theme for Yakuza 4's promotions? First there was the whiskey flask. Then came the Don Quixoti tie-up, which Sega managed to turn into a shochu tie-up by offering a Yakuza 4-themed shochu for exclusive sales through the shop. Then came the Watami tie-up, which Sega managed to turn into a beer tie-up by giving patrons a chance to win Yakuza 4 beer jugs.
The most recent promotion has a booze component too. Similar to a promotion it held for Yakuza 3, Sega is teaming up with B&V, operators of national karaoke chain Karaoke Kan (the "Kan" is not "Can" as in "You can karaoke!", but "Kan" as in Japanese for "Hall"). This tie-up will result in promotions both in and out of the game.
In Yakuza 4, players will be able to visit a Karaoke Kan shop to perform karaoke songs via a rhythm mini game. The game includes over 10 songs, and when you sing them with girls, it will look something like this:
Real world Karaoke Kan shops will feature a set of Yakuza 4 themed drinks from March 15 through April 30. These are named after the game's four heroes. I think there's a pun of some form in the names, but it's beyond my head, so Japanese readers see if you can figure it out for yourself:
- 桐生角(カク)テル
- 秋山角(カク)テル
- 冴島角(カク)テル
- 谷村角(カク)テル
Karaoke Kan shops will also air an exclusive Yakuza 4 commercial and have Yakuza 4 posters lining their walls, similar to promotions held for Yakuza 3.
