Sony Takes Torne on Tour

PS3 DVR kit to appear at retail events over the coming months.

The Torne bundle includes software and a receiver unit.

Early reports indicate that Sony's PlayStation 3 DVR kit "Torne" is off to a great start. It looks like Sony intends on keeping the momentum.

The company will be holding a "Torne Demo Event Caravan." This series of demo events will hit hot spots in Tokyo and Osaka from March 27 through May 2. Attendees will be able to try out Torne's speedy interface, its connectivity with PSP, its online features and more.

Sony will also be drafting comedians to lead on-stage introductions to the device. Early arrivers can also look forward to some novelty goodies.

The fun begins on the 27th and 28th at Shinjuku Station Square. These days will be attended respectively by Abegouji and Chocolate Planet.

The event will continue to Shibuya 109 on 4/3 and 4/4, Sunshine City Ikebukuro on 4/10 and 4/11, Shibuya Parco on 4/17 and 4/18, Sony Square on 4/24 and 4/25, and Osaka Station on 5/1 and 5/2

Those who cannot attend these events will find that Torne is always on display at the Sony Showroom in Ginza, the Concept Shop in Ikebukuro's Yamada Denki Labi, and Joshin Denki Nihonbashi.
