New Idol Master Announcement Coming in July

Upcoming concert event could see announcement of long awaited true sequel.

Producer Yoko Sakagami announcing the sequel in a Nico Nico video broadcast of last year's event.

Namco Bandai will be holding another Idol Master live event this year. And like last year's event, it looks like we'll be getting first word on a new game in the series.

The "Idol Master 5th Anniversary The World is All One" event will be held on July 3 and July 4 at the Makuhari Messe event space in Chiba, just outside Tokyo. Like past live events, this one will see appearances by the franchise's full voice cast.

The Idol Master official site also confirms that the event will see the announcement of the next Idol Master title. This will be the next game in the Project IMA@S 2nd Vision series, according to the page.

The first entry in the 2nd Vision series was DS's Idol Master Dearly Stars, which saw release in September of last year.

At last year's Idol Master Dream Tour event in May, series producer Yoko Sakagami also announced a true sequel in the series. Different from the DS title, which focused on three girls in the 876 Productions studio, the new game will turn the focus back to 765 Productions, which has been the focus of all other titles in the series.

Tickets for the concert will go on sale in April. All seats are ¥7,000.
