Fist of the North Star Musou Tops Enterbrain Sales Charts

PS3 gets a one-two punch with Fist and Yakuza 4. Xbox 360 gets two titles in the top 10.

Fist of the North Star Musou combines the Fist of the North Star manga license with Dynasty Warriors gameplay.

Fist of the North Star Musou teamed up with Yakuza 4 to give PS3 a one-two punch atop Enterbrain's latest sales charts.

As reported at Famitsu.com, over the week covering March 22 through March 28, the PS3 version of Fist debuted at number one, bumping last week's number one, Yakuza 4, into second place.

The 360 version of Fist debuted at 7. It was actually one of two 360 games in the top ten, as 5pb.'s adventure game Chaos; Head Love Chu Chu! made it in at 10.

Also new in the top ten this week was God of War III. Different from past GoW titles, Sony was the publisher instead of Capcom.

Here's the full Enterbrain top 10:

  • 1. Fist of the North Star Musou (Koei, PS3)
  • 2. Yakuza 4 (Sega, PS3)
  • 3. New Super Mario Bros. Wii (Nintendo, Wii)
  • 4. Pokemon Ranger Path of Light (Pokemon, DS)
  • 5. God of War III (Sony, PS3)
  • 6. Friend Collection (Nintendo, DS)
  • 7. Fist of the North Star Musou (Koei, X360)
  • 8. Gundam Assault Survive (Namco Bandai, PSP)
  • 9. Wii Fit Plus (Nintendo, Wii)
  • 10. Chaos; Head Love Chu Chu! (5pb., X360)

Enterbrain doesn't won't share actual sales numbers until next week (Media Create will release figures Thursday afternoon), but we can guess at how successful Fist was. Koei announced an early shipment of over 500,000 units for the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions combined.
