Okamiden Development Blog Starts
Capcom's talking about the DS sequel to Okami once again. Could a release be far behind.
Capcom's DS sequel to Okami, Okamiden, looks like it's making its way back into the spotlight following a few months of post Tokyo Game Show silence. Yesterday, Capcom started up an official blog for the game.
The first post was penned by producer Motohide Eshiro. In the post, Eshiro wrote about how he first came into contact with Okamiden.
This was some time in late 2008 when he was busy with the final adjustment stages of "a certain" project (I'm going to guess he's referring to Ace Attorney Investigations, which he also produced). Director Kuniomi Matsushita brought a DS to him and showed something which made Eshiro exclaim something to the effect of: "What the! Isn't that a familiar white dog... err, white wolf... running around?"
Matsushita told Eshiro that he and some fans of Okami had worked on a pre-production version of the game voluntarily. He asked Eshiro to serve as producer on official development of the game.
Unfortunately, Eshiro did not provide a status update on Okamiden. However, with the opening of the blog, and the start of a unique goods promotion last month, it looks like Capcom is starting to kick up the chatter about the title. This seems like a good indication that a release won't be far off.
