PlayStation 3 Hatsune Miku Looks Like This

Sega shares first screens of its expansion that magically makes Project Diva playable on PS3.

Back at March's Hatsune Miku Project Diva 2 unveiling, Sega revealed that the Hatsune Miku virtual idol would be appearing on the PS3 through a download expansion for PSP's first Project Diva game. Today, we got details and screens.

The expansion is titled Hatsune Miku Project Diva Dreamy Theater and will be released this Summer. Pricing has yet to be set.

While Dreamy Theater is a PS3 app, you'll need to have a PSP and a copy of the original Hatsune Miku Project Diva in order to use it. Connect your PSP to your PS3 via USB cable, and you'll be able to play Project Diva on your television, piped through your PS3. Along the way, everything is transformed into PS3-level visuals, complete with more detailed character models.

Dreamy Theater is compatible with your Project Diva save file, meaning you'll be able to see your original PVs in full PS3 spec.

Sega promises additional details to follow at the newly opened Dreamy Theater official site.

The site notes that PSP go is not compatible with Dreamy Theater. This makes sense, as at present Project Diva is only available as a UMD release.
