Smash Bros. reappears in the top 30. Perhaps new Wii owners are choosing this as their second game to follow New Super Mario Bros.

The rankings page has been updated with Media Create's sales data covering May 3 through May 9.

This week covers the Golden Week holiday period, where most of Japan was on vacation. No new games were released over the period, explaining the similarities to last week's chart.

In particular, the top two remained the same, with Dragon Quest Monsters Joker 2 in top, followed by Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker. Joker has since gone on to ship a million units.

The most notable additions to the chart this week are older Nintendo titles making sudden reappearances. Smash Bros. Brawl placed at 29 this week. Mario Kart DS placed at 21.
