A retailer leaked out a release date of September 2 for Metroid Other M earlier in the week. Nintendo got around to confirming the date today.

The confirmation came via the game's slickly redesigned official site.

Visit the site's movie section for two clips: a "play style" introduction clip and a historical look at the series titled "Metroid and Me."

Also at the site are sections for story, control, characters (just showing Samus for now), action and stage.

The control section has some sweet embedded videos showing the game being played. You should definitely check this out if you want to get pumped about this latest Wii Metroid.
