Project Sora Brings Kid Icarus to 3DS
Kirby and Smash Bros. creator's mystery game revealed to be long awaited sequel.
The veil has at last come off of the mystery title being made by Masahiro Sakurai's "Project Sora" studio. At Nintendo's pre E3 press conference today in Los Angeles, CEO Satoru Iwata said during a segment detailing the 3DS, "Project Sora was established to create a 3DS game."
And that 3DS game turned out to be Kid Icarus Uprising, the long awaited new entry in the Kid Icarus franchise. Iwata unveiled a trailer for the game, showing a wise cracking Pit soaring through the sky and alternating between ground and air combat.
Further details on the game were not provided, but regarding the game's 3D functionality, Iwata said "You can more easily judge the distance between yourself and the floating objects."

Nintendo will be showing off a 3D trailer for the game on the E3 show floor this afternoon.
Project Sora was first formed in February of last year as a joint venture between Nintendo and Kirby and Smash Bros. creator Masahiro Sakurai. Sakurai formed a studio in Tokyo specifically for the creation of the new Kid Icarus game.
