Super Street Fighter IV Location Test Set

Capcom putting arcade version on test later this week! Get your first look here.

It looks like Capcom is further along with the development of Super Street Fighter IV's arcade version than they've been hinting. The game will be going on location test later this week!

The arcade version's official site was updated today with the details. You'll be able to sample the fighter according to the following schedule:

  • 7/23 to 7/25: Hey in Akihabara (Tokyo)
  • 7/30 to 8/1: High Tech Land Sega Avion (Osaka)
  • 8/6 to 8/8: Plaza Capcom Kichijyoji (Tokyo)

The official site mentions two changes from the arcade version of the original. You'll now have 10 extra characters for your introductory text. Additionally, your rank will now be displayed during battle.

Also at the official site are pics of two new NESYS cards. The NESYS cards are used to save your data. The game will work fine with your current Street Fighter IV NESYS cards as well.

In other Super SFIV arcade version news, Capcom has announced a delay in the announcement of the results for its catch copy contest. As previously detailed, the company is letting fans come up with a catch phrase for the game. The result of the contest was set to be announced today, but Capcom updated the campaign page with notice that due to having received over 7,000 submissions it will take longer to determine the best one. The current announcement date is TBA.

To make up for the delay, Capcom says that it's considering giving additional prizes to the winning submission.
