Close Up Look at K-On's Menu System
Watch chibi versions of the After School Tea Time members recreate scenes from the anime.
There's more to K-On: After School Live than just a timing-based rhythm game. Fans of the anime could end up spending much of their time staring at the game's menu screen.
That menu screen looks like this:
When the members of After School Tea Time are in a different room, it might look like this:
And if the girls decide to head to the beach, it may look like this:
In the menu screen, you'll can view chibi versions of Yui, Mio, Tsumugi, Azusa and Ritsu leading their daily lives at school and in other environments. Time passes here. The screens Sega sent out show the classroom at morning, evening and night.
While the girls move about via AI routines, you can engage in some light interaction with them. Items that you've unlocked in the main rhythm mode of play can be given to the girls as gifts. Screenshots show a variety of item options, from food to interior decoration items. If given an interior decoration item, the girl will placed it somewhere in the room.
The girls have certain likes and dislikes as far as items go. Give just the right item, and you could end up seeing a recreation of a memorable scene from the anime.
Joining the menu shots, Sega sent out screens showing the latest stages from the rhythm component along with new costumes for the girls. Sega said that future updates leading up to the September 30 release will include specifics on the clothing system.
