Hori announced today that it has cancelled plans to give a general release to Taito's Vewlix F arcade cabinet. As reason for the cancelation, the company said that it failed to get sufficient orders for the ¥498,000 (shipping not included) unit.

The peripheral giant first announced plans to release the cabinet to the general public back in June. Similar to Xbox 360's pricey Twin Sticks EX peripheral, Hori warned that the device would only go into production if it reached a certain number of pre-orders.
