First Look: Macross Trial Frontier and its Logo of Much Purpleness
Namco Bandai brings Macross to the PS3 through a unique hybrid video and game offering.
As revealed yesterday, Namco Bandai is bringing Macross to the PS3 through Macross Trial Frontier. Famitsu.com delivered a first look today.
Trial Frontier is being released on the PS3 as part of the Macross Frontier ~Itsuwari no Utahime~ Hybrid Pack. This single disc release includes the Trial Frontier game and the "Macross Frontier ~Itsuwari no Utahime~" movie. When played back on a PS3, you can access both the game and video content. When played back on a standard Blu-ray player, you'll be able to access just the video content.
The game part of the package follows in the line of PSP's Macross Ultimate Frontier. The gameplay systems are based off the systems in that game, allowing you to transform your fighter between three forms to survive the missile-filled skies. Characters from the Itsuwari no Utahime movie will appear in the game.
The movie part of the package includes the movie in full form along with over 50 minutes of bonus footage.
Look for Macross Frontier ~Itsuwari no Utahime~ Hybrid Pack on 10/7 at ¥7,140. Visit Famitsu.com for more screens.
