This Week's Flying Get
New Tactics Ogre details, Nippon Ichi goes spanking mad, and more. All your magazine leaks in one convenient location.
Welcome to this week's Flying Get, the weekly column where we summarize all the magazine leaks that come out of the likes of Famitsu and Dengeki.
This week's column is opening up with plenty of content thanks to some early leaks from Dengeki which resulted in the revelation that Nippon Ichi and Imageepoch are making a game where you spank and massage girls into good behavior. Dengeki also delivered new details on Tactics Ogre and Zero no Kiseki and confirmed that Neptune probably isn't going to be very good.
Read below for the specifics, and check back throughout the day for more!
As usual, the info you see here mostly comes from the summaries posted by Game Jouhou. This week, the Dengeki summaries also come from this blog. None of the info has been verified, and although the reports at the two Japanese sources tend to be pretty accurate, you're basically reading summaries of summaries here, so there may be some differences when you read the full first hand reports later on the site.
Another Century's Episode R Scores High (added 14:26)
It looks like Famitsu took a liking to Another Century's Episode R, awarding the game a 9, 8, 9 and 7. Here's a bit of what they said:
- Playing through one route takes 12 hours
- The graphics and feel of speed are first rate
- The game has good tempo
- You'll be able to enjoy a level of volume not seen in past entries
- The stages and missions are full of variation
- The game feels fast and refreshing
- The feel of the game changes based off the mech
- If you like robot anime, you'll definitely get sucked into the game
- Even if you're not a fan of the original works, you'll enjoy yourself
- Choosing the enemy you lock on to is difficult (from the person who gave the game a 7).
Super Dimensional Game Neptune got a Famitsu score of 7, 6, 7 and 6, matching its Dengeki score of 70, 70, 70 and 65. Famitsu complained about the pre-battle loading time being long, leading to bad tempo. They did say that the characters have charm and the combat is fun, though.
I'm not going to get a chance to translate it, but if you want to see the full text of Dengeki's review on Neptune, visit this blog
Square Enix Readying Next Game Archives Game (added 14:17)
This isn't really flying get info, but I refuse to put this in a separate story.
Square Enix is looking into its next Game Archives game to follow Final Fantasy IX, Dew Prism and Legend of Mana. Shinji Hashimoto said this at the Square Enix Members Twitter.
In a later post, Hashimoto mistakenly wrote "3rd Birthday" as "3nd Birthday." Tetsuya Nomura made fun of this at The 3rd Birthday's Twitter.
Are you having as much fun reading this as I am writing it?
Is this Konami's Professor Layton clone?
Famitsu has a report on a new Konami DS game called "Zack and Ombra's Amusement Park of Illusion." Game Jouhou's summary describes the game as resembling Level-5's Professor Layton series in all areas from the logo, characters, screenshots and even genre.
First Hero 30 Second Details (added 12:12)
Famitsu has a first report this week on MMV's sequel to Yuusha 30, aka Half-Minute Hero. Titled Yuusha 30 Second, or "Hero 30 Second," the game promises a four player competitive mode and an edit mode. Yoko Shimomura, Yasunori Mitsuda, Motoi Sakuraba and Masashi Hamauzu will be delivering music for the game.
The New Tactics Ogre Class (added 12:12)
And the new class Square Enix was teasing for Tactics Ogre is... Rogue.
That's all for now!
PS3 Tales has a new visual style (added 12:06)
It looks like there are a few details on the new PS3 Tales game in Famitsu's interview with the Tales series staff this week.
Not surprisingly, given the non-Talesish artwork that was shared at the game's unveiling, the staff discusses the visual effect they're going for with the game. They're aiming to deliver a visual expression that's different from the anime touch of Tales of Vesperia and the watercolor touch of Tales of Graces. One of the focuses is on the contrast between light and shadow.
Apparently, when the staff saw the backgrounds from the image art converted into real time on the PS3, they were stunned.
The summary at Game Jouhou also mentions something about the game breaking new ground. The full interview will hopefully be clearer about this.
Tales of Graces F: New Details (added 11:45)
Famitsu has a report on Tales of Graces F, Namco Bandai's PS3 port of Wii's Tales of Graces.
In an interview, the Tales development staff reveal that a web survey showed an extreme amount of demand for a PS3 port of the game. Development on the PS3 version started in February.
The interview also reveals that the staff is taking care to keep the load times down and that there will be additional costumes aside from the Sophie costume that was shown in the initial screenshot.
Sega's New Shining Game (added 10:48)
Sega's Shining series is coming to PSP through the all new Shining Hearts.
Revealed in this week's Famitsu, Hearts is a traditional RPG where you attempt to open the door to someone's heart via a heartful lifestyle. I don't know what that means either, but apparently you'll be helping out a girl who's lost both her heart and memory
The magazine introduces main character Rikku along with three sisters, Neris, Airy and Amaru. These character live a peaceful life on an island before heading off on a big adventure.
Shining Hearts looks to be along the lines of Shining Tears and Winds in that it features character designs from Tony. Speaking of Tony, check out Sega's Shining Wind pillow cases.
Macross Trial Frontier Includes Macross F Music (added 10:31)
In addition to heroines and mecha, PS3's Macross Trial Frontier will feature music from Macross F. This isn't much of a surprise, as the PS3 game is based off Macross F.
Additional Atelier Totori DLC Details (added 10:31)
Word leaked on Gust's Atelier Totori download content plans last week from Gemaga. Dengeki PlayStation has additional details on the DLC.
In addition to playable Cecilia, the DLC will include a BGM customization feature and a character model viewer. A release is set for Fall, although pricing is not announced in the magazine.
This will be just the first of multiple DLC updates for the game, Dengeki reveals.
A couple of Tactics Ogre details (added 10:23)
Famitsu is going to have a big article on PSP's Tactics Ogre: We Are the Champions this week. According to the game's official Twitter, the Famitsu story will include new class info.
But before that, Dengeki PlayStation has its own look at the game in a 12 page feature. The info is mostly the same as what was shown in Famitsu two weeks back and also what was in Dengeki Games last week (why are there so many Dengekis?), but the magazine does say that the game will have about 60 characters. Is this new? I really don't know.
There's a whole lot more on the game at this blog if you're interested.
Zero no Kiseki has an in-game newspaper (added 10:23)
Here's an interesting game mechanic from Falcom's Legend of Heroes sequel, Zero no Kiseki. Dengeki reports that the game's primary city, Crossbell City, has its own newspaper called the Crossbell Times. The paper covers all the happenings around town, and will apparently report on your activities.
The paper plays a part in the story, it seems. Dengeki also introduces a new character, Grace Lynn. This 24-year-old reporter with the paper has taken an interest in the activities of the special police force of which you're a member.
Read about the primary cast here. Dengeki introduces a number of new characters this week, outside of Grace. I'm not sure if I'll get around to translating the info anytime soon, so see for yourself in this blog post.
Neptune is just as bad as you were expecting (added 10:23)
Dengeki PlayStation has confirmed what we already knew -- Super Dimensional Game Neptune is Super Dimensional Crap! The parody-filled RPG scored 70, 70, 70 and 65 in Dengeki. The person leaking all this info unfortunately did not break down the scores.
On the bright side, it looks like Compile Hearts will be taking advantage of the game's sexy heroines. Dengeki's four page feature on the game this week mentions that Neptune's download content will include swimwear for the girls. The magazine shows Neptune, IF-chan and Compa-chan in individual swimsuits.
If you need further details on the swimwear, see this blog post.
