New BlazBlue Continuum Shift DLC May Come After Tokyo Game Show

Producer comments suggest a lengthy wait for Valkenhayn.

It looks like Makoto (the one with the tail) will be the only Continuum Shift character download for the time being.

Valkenhayn R Hellsing was confirmed as BlazBlue Continuum Shift's second downloadable character at the recent BlazBlue Streaming event.

While an availability date was not announced at the event, producer Mori Toshimichi appears to have given a hint that we'll have to wait some time for the character. As reported at 4gamer, during a group interview session following the main event, Mori told the press that details on the character will be announced at the Tokyo Game Show. "The character is already complete, so we'd like to get it out as soon as possible. However, we'd like to push Makoto now, so please put Valkenhayn aside and buy Makoto."

Makoto, the game's first download character, was released on the 4th as paid DLC for both the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of Continuum Shift. The BlazBlue Streaming event was held to commemorate the DLC's availability.

TGS kicks off on September 16, so if details on the DLC won't be coming until then, we can presumably assume that the character will also not be available until then.

The press also asked about Arc's plans for the September Amusement Machine show, plans that were also announced at the BlazBlue Streaming event. It seems that only the voice actresses responded.

Noel voice actress Kondo Kanako said that she's interested in seeing a new arcade title, as she'd like to see what happens to all the characters. Rachel's Kana Ueda said that she's unsure if Valkenhayn would appear in a subsequent arcade title, but because the character is closely connected to Rachel, she's also interested in seeing future developments for the series. Makoto's Tomomi Isomura said that she'd like Makoto to appear in an arcade version. Said Isomura, "I personally feel it would be nice if we can set up an environment in arcades where those who are not in an environment where they can purchase DLC will be able to meet Makoto."

As reported earlier at Famitsu.com, Mori gave somewhat of a hint that new developments will be announced at the AM Show, saying "BlazBlue will be shown at an arcade game show. Please consider what that means." The AM Show will be held from the 9th through the 11th, the week before TGS.
