Xbox 360 DoDonPachi Patch Report Coming This Weekend
Still waiting for that darn patch? There may be some news from Akihabara on Saturday.
Are you an owner of the buggy and eventually pulled-from-shelves Xbox 360 DoDonPachi Daioujou Black Label Extra? Then you've probably given up hope on ever seeing a patch for the game.
Well guess what? It looks like a patch is still on the way. Cave recently said to expect an update from Arika on the game's patch at this weekend's Cave Festival event in Akihabara.
I last wrote about the patch back in February. I'm not sure if there have been any other updates since then.
5pb. and Arika has been promising a patch since the game was pulled from retailers last year. It was later revealed that the game was produced using unauthorized source code in an event that has come to be known by people who want to get punched in the face as "DoDonPachi Gate."
The Cave Festival event will be held on the 14th at Akihabara's UDX event space from 10:00 to 18:00. The DoDonPachi announcement will come before the live broadcast of Enterbrain's Midnight Live 360 webcast.
Visit this page for additional details on the event.
CORRECTION: A previous version of this story referred to the game as DoDonPachi Daifukkatsu Black Label Extra. The Xbox 360 version is actually Daioujou, the fourth entry in the DonPachi series. Daifukkatsu, known in English as "Resurrection," is the fifth arcade entry in the series and will soon see an updated port for iPhone.
