Ogre Battle Goes Mobile
Square Enix brings the classic Super Famicom strategy title to iMode with some new features.
Tactics Ogre Let us Cling Together is set for PSP release on November 11. But well before that, cell phone gamers will get a chance at that game's predecessor, Densetsu no Ogre Battle, or as it's known in the West, Ogre Battle: The March of the Black Queen.
Square Enix announced today plans to release an iMode version of the first Ogre series title. The mobile version will include the main quest with all its base gameplay in tact, but will add new elements like "extra map" and "server quests."
Details are scarce on these new modes at present. It seems that the server quest mode will have players dispatch units to a server. Extra maps are presumably just that -- downloadable maps.
A release is set for September 1, with pricing set at ¥630 for the base game. Additional maps will run ¥105 each, with additional quests running ¥210 each.
Joining the announcement, Square Enix opened a teaser site for the game. There's nothing at the site at present, although iMode users can scan a bar code to get a free machi-uke screen.
