Sega Opens Tokyo Game Show Special Site

Vanquish, Yakuza, Phantasy Star and more promised for upcoming event.

Sega became the first major publisher to open a Tokyo Game Show special site today. Access the company's TGS portal for an early glimpse at its plans for next month's big event.

Sega's booth on the main show floor and in the Family Corner area.

Currently, the site promises the following Sega published games:

  • Vanquish (PS3, X360)
  • Virtual On Force (X360)
  • Sonic Colors (NDS, Wii)
  • Phantasy Star Portable 2 Infinity (PSP)
  • Black Panther Yakuza New Chapter (PSP)
  • Shining Hearts (PSP)
  • K-On After School Live (PSP)

In a press release, Sega confirmed that these will all be playable. Sonic Colors will be available exclusively in the "Family Corner" area of the show.

As usual, Sega's booth will house games from the partner companies for whom it often acts as distibutor. The current partner title list reads:

  • Shiren the Wanderer 5 (Chunsoft, DS)
  • F1 2010 (Codemasters)
  • Mafia II (Take-Two)
  • Bullet Soul (5pb. X360)
  • Arcana Heart 3 (Arc System Works, PS3/X360)

Of these, all but Mafia II will be playable. Shiren, Bullet Soul and Arcana Heart will be making their playable debuts. The former two were announced just last week.

The final lineup, both for Sega and its partner companies, will likely increase beyond what's shown here. As an example, Sega's current lineup fails to mention the new PlayStation 3 Yakuza game which has already been confirmed for a Tokyo Game Show reveal.

Visit the site's movie page for promotional clips of many of the games. The site's stage event page and goods page are currently blank.

TGS will be held this year from September 16 through September 19. The first two days are press and business only.
