Capcom Shares Tokyo Game Show Lineup
Monster Hunter Portable 3rd, Marvel VS Capcom 3 and Dead Rising 2 confirmed for playable showing.
Capcom opened its Tokyo Game Show special site today, giving a preliminary look at its lineup for this year's event.
The company's booth, located adjacent to Sony's booth this year, currently has the following planned for exhibit:
- Monster Hunter Portable 3rd
- Marvel vs Capcom 3 Fate of Two Worlds
- Dead Rising 2
- Okamiden
- Monster Hunter Portable Poka Poka Felyne Village (already released)
These will all be playable, and as usual, Capcom will be giving gifts to those who sample the games. Okamiden and Felyne Village will be available exclusively in the Family Corner section of the show.
Regarding Marvel vs Capcom 3, the TGS special site hints that there will be a new character announcement at the show.
On the Monster Hunter Portable 3rd demo, Famitsu revealed this week that players will be able to select from three quests of varying difficulty. Capcom will be taking crowd control measures for this game, distributing reservation tickets at the start of the show. This will hopefully mean no more six hour waits.
The above list is most likely just a temporary list. Like most other publishers, Capcom usually updates its TGS list with new games as they are announced in the build up to the show.
In terms of stage events, the site currently promises a Sengoku Basara 3 stage with appearances by producer Hiroyuki Kobayashi and director Shin Yamamoto. The stage will feature announcement of the midterm results in a "general popularity voting" contest where gamers select their favorite general.
In a video message at the TGS special site, Monster Hunter producer Ryozo Tsujimoto promised a stage event for Monster Hunter Portable 3rd as well. Capcom usually holds stages for all its games, so this isn't too much of a surprise.
Capcom will also have goods sales at the show. Visit the site's goods page for a glimpse.
In addition to the special site, Capcom has opened up a Twitter exclusively for the show.
