A retailer let slip first word earlier today about Nintendo's plans for a Wii revival of Super Nintendo's Super Mario All-Stars. Nintendo has now confirmed those plans.

Actually, what Nintendo has confirmed is the existence of a game called Super Mario Collection Special Pack. The game appears on Nintendo's newly updated release calendar with an October 21 release date. Nintendo has yet to actually share details on the game, though.

The retailer report mentioned that this is a revival of All-Stars, which is known in Japan as Super Mario Collection. This presumably means that it will include Super Mario Bros, Mario 2, Mario 3 and Super Mario USA. The retailer also said to expect some sweet goods, including a booklet and soundtrack CD.
