Capcom announced today that Sengoku Basara 3 has broken series records by topping the 500,000 mark in shipments. The game was released on July 29.

Sengoku Basara 3 is the latest entry in Capcom's Sengoku Basara historical action franchise. The game features a new cast of characters and takes the action to the battlefields of Sekigahara.

With the 500,000 shipment for part 3, the series as a whole has now shipped 2.1 million units.

Different from past Sengoku Basara games, part 3 was released simultaneously for both PS3 and Wii. Capcom did not provide a sales split, although Enterbrain's latest monthly sales figures, covering through August 29, had the PS3 version at 340,000 and the Wii version at 83,300.

For overseas players, Sengoku Basara 3 is scheduled to be released in North America and Europe next month under the name Sengoku Basara Samurai Heroes.
