Call of Duty Black Ops: First Dubbed Trailer
Square Enix gets some major voice talent for the dubbed version.
Square Enix is conducting somewhat of an experiment with the Japanese release of Call of Duty Black Ops. The game will be made available as separate subbed and dubbed SKUs. Those who buy the dubbed version will get Japanese voice overs. The subbed version will have the original English voice track with Japanese subtitles.
Today, Square Enix shared a first trailer for the dubbed version. See if you like the sound of the Cold War in Japanese:
Square Enix promised a major voice cast for the dub, and they seem to be delivering just that. The voices in the trailer include Kenyu Horiuchi as narrator, Rikiya Koyama as Frank Woods, and Hiroki Yasumoto as Weaver. These are all veteran voice talents.
The subtitled version of Black Ops arrives first, on 11/18. The dubbed version arrives on 12/16 (ironically -- at least I think this is irony -- the same day as Final Fantasy XIII's English voiced Xbox 360 version). Both versions run ¥7,980.
