How's this for fan service? Square Enix held off on the announcement of a new Dragon Quest game for a fan stage event on the second and final public day of the Tokyo Game Show.

At today's "Great Masters GP" stage event, the first tournament for Dragon Quest Monsters Joker 2, Square Enix announced "Dragon Quest monsters Joker 2 Professional." This updated version of Joker 2 adds a large number of monsters and maps, and also makes updates in various other areas.

A release is set for Spring 2011. As compatible hardware, the Joker 2 official site lists "Nintendo DS Series," which presumably means DS, DS Lite, DSi and DSi XL.
