Parasite Eve PSN Release Still Under Consideration
The 3rd Birthday's latest Twitter tease sounds pretty close to confirmation.
All went quiet on Game Archives releases for Parasite Eve 1 and 2 following a few Twitter hints a couple of months back indicating that Square Enix has been looking into the project. Today, The 3rd Birthday director Hajime Tabata weighed in again with what seems like near confirmation.
Tabata posted earlier today that, similar to what he's said in past updates, the related parties within Square Enix are currently "making adjustments" in order to make the PSN download releases a reality. He also added, "Please wait until it has been finalized and formally announced."
While not clear confirmation that a Game Archives release is set, Tabata's wording would suggest that it's just a matter of time until we get notice from Shinji Hashimoto at the Square Enix Members Twitter. (Hashimoto has been responsible for all of Square Enix's Game Archives announcements since Final Fantasy IX, although he's gone quiet recently.)
The 3rd Birthday is due for December 22 release, so downloadable versions of the first two Parasite Eve games would likely come before then.
In separate The 3rd Birthday Twitter news, Tabata posted a message directed at Square Enix CEO Yoichi Wada: "It's okay, Mr. President. 3rd fits into the expected rating. But it just barely made it in, so we're being careful."
