Acquire Readying More Wizardry For PlayStation 3
Sequel to download-only Torawareshi Tamashii no Meikyuu set for package release.
PlayStation 3 owners have a new take on the classic Wizardry franchise to look forward to on PSN some time next year. Acquire is currently developing the franchise's latest entry, Wizardry Torawareshi Bourei no Machi. Famitsu and Famitsu.com have first details and screens.
Torawareshi Bourei no Machi is a sequel to Wizardry Torawareshi Tamashii no Meikyuu, which was given exclusive download release on PlayStation 3 in December 2009. The new title beefs up all areas of its predecessor, with new classes, new jobs, oudoor maps and more.
New races include Fairy and Felpurr. Fairies are small and have wings which allow them to fly through the air. Felpurrs are a man-sized cat-like race that can be placed in the front lines for the fight.
As with the original, character designs are from Yuki Hayabusa.
Also new for the sequel is a ranking board. This will show rankings for a number of categories like "ranking for defeating a boss using a low level party" and "ranking for most damage in a single turn."
Joining the download-only release of Torawareshi Bourei no Machi, Acquire is planning Wizardry Twin Pack for retail release. This will include Torawareshi Bourei no Machi and Torawareshi Tamashii no Meikyuu. Torawareshi Tamashii no Meikyuu will have all its dungeons unlocked and will also include the add-on scenario that was sold separately for ¥800. Torawareshi Bourei no Machi will include a bonus add-on item of some form.
Both the solo Torawareshi Bourei no Machi and the Twin Pack will see release in 2011.
14:35: The original version of this story erroneously listed the new Wizardry Torawareshi Bourei no Machi as a retail release. It's actually a download release. The Wizardry Twin Pack is a retail release.
