Capcom Readying 3D Mega Man, Ghosts 'n Goblins, and Resident Evil for Cell Phones
New naked eye 3D Softbank sets get some major names.
Capcom announced today plans to bring 3D versions of some of its classic franchises to Smartphones using the Android operating system.
Mega Man (the 1987 original), Ghosts 'n Goblins: Gold Knights, and Resident Evil Degeneration will be pre-installed on Galapagos Softbank 003SH and 005SH phones, which have 3D LCD screens capable of displaying a 3D effect without the need for special glasses.
All the games are older titles, but Capcom refers to the new versions as "3D versions." It's unclear how the 3D effect is utilized.
In a press release (read it here), Capcom cited this move as an example of how its oft touted multiplatform strategy extends to mobile devices.
