This Week's Flying Get: F Style

5pb's new fighting game revealed. The latest magazine leaks.

Continuing from yesterday's Flying Get D Edition, here's Flying Get F Edition.

As with all Flying Get columns, the early magazine leak information you read here is in general based off message board postings and thus could have some errors. For more formal writeups (once I actually have access to the magazines myself, or once official announcements have been made) consult the separate stories that will be posted elsewhere on the site.

Check back throughout the day for updates!

The Last Story May Have Online Play

It appears that the upcoming issue of Jump reveals online play for The Last Story. Players will apparently be able to face off cooperatively against monsters and also battle amongst themselves.

The magazine also introduces a new character named General Trista. There's also mention of some character customization components. Changing your equipment will result in visual changes to your character (this was announced in a past Iwata Asks column, I believe). Also, you'll be able to use "paint" to change the color of your armor and other items.

I'm not sure if the source for this report is trustworthy, so you may want to hold off on the celebrations until confirmation.

Could this really be online?

Square Enix released Black Ops in separate dubbed and subbed versions.

A few details on Disaster Report 4

Famitsu has a report on Disaster Report 4 this week. A few details have leaked out in advance.

The magazine reports that the game begins when the bus the main character is riding on gets into a multi car pileup accident following the major earthquake that serves as the disaster for this latest entry.

The magazine also introduces a number of bystanders you'll encounter following the earthquake, including a girl who tries to use her cell phone to make a phone call, a man who tries to take pictures of the destroyed city with his cell phone, a man and woman arguing in the street, and a confused salaryman.

The magazine also confirms the February 24 release date that leaked out of retailers last week.

Wonderswan Developer's Xbox 360 Game Revealed

Late last month, Qute announced that it had signed on to make Xbox 360 games (read the full story here). Famitsu reveals the identity of the studio's first project to be Eschatos (written in katakana as "エスカトス"). Eschatos is a shooting game with a 1980s taste. Surprisingly (given Qute's size), it's a retail release rather than an Xbox Live Arcade title.

This is the teaser countdown site Qute set up about 131191574 seconds ago.

Monster Hunter Portable 3rd Completion Ceremony

This isn't magazine related, but it seems that Capcom is holding a completion ceremony event for Monster Hunter Portable 3rd today at 11:00.

And guess who's attending?

That's from Masahiro Sakurai's Twitter.

Bleach Set for PS3

Jump reveals this week that PlayStation 3 will be getting its first Bleach game. Bleach Soul Ignition is coming to the PS3 from Sony for release in 2011. The game will be shown at December's Jump Festa event in some capacity.

Jump also confirms that PSP's Bleach Heat the Soul 7 will see download content related to the Bleach movie. This will be available through PS Store starting in December.

Phantom Breaker Gets its Full Reveal

Back in July, 5pb. opened an official site for its first fighting game, Phantom Breaker. The game has been given a full reveal in this week's Famitsu.

Phantom Breaker is an original 2D fighting action game for the Xbox 360. As previously revealed, the game uses character designs from illustrator Hiro Suzuhira.

Gameplay systems mentioned in the magazine include "Burst Gauge" and "Tension Gauge." The game promises a complex battle system but a simple control scheme.

Famitsu has a full look at the game, with details on characters and gameplay, so expect more details to surface shortly.
