Tokimeki Memorial Heads to Junior High on Cell Phones
Latest love simulation turns back the clock a few years.
A few weeks back, Konami asked fans to select heroines for an upcoming Tokimeki Memorial mobile game. That game became available for download yesterday at Konami DX under the name Tokimeki Memorial 4 Chu.
The "Chu" in the name is a cute little pun on kiss and junior high school. As a first for the high school oriented series, Chu will take place in junior high.
The winning girls, all Tokimeki Memorial 4 Mobile characters, were announced last month. In case you missed the announcement, here's who made it in:
Kiho Inokura
The main heroine from Tokimeki Memorial 4 Mobile returns as a junior high student. She's popular in class and dreams of being a model in the future.
Zuji Wan
Zuji Wan is described as a selfish "princess." She's small, and gets angry when people mistake her for an elementary school student. She's a math genius and is also great with computers. Her father is somewhat scary.
Koyomi Shousouin
Koyomi is always seen digging holes in the school playground searching for something. She's a mysterious girl with secrets.
You start the game off by selecting one of three types for your in-game character: scholarly type, physical (strong) type and appealing (good looks) type. This character setting has a paper-rock-scissors style effect on battle.
You build up your character by attending class and equipping yourself with items like pencils, notebooks and gym shorts, which raise up your paramters. You'll be able to meet the three heroines by selecting classes that show their icons. As a course progresses, shown by a percentage on the main class selection screen, you'll end up working through events involving the girls.
Other players will appear in the game as rivals. You'll challenge them in "appeal battles" in an effort to win the heroine's hearts. You can also register other players as friends. Friends can support one another with words of encouragement.
