A Few Bits About Final Fantasy IV Complete Collection
New CG opening for The After Years.
This week's issue of Weekly Shounen Jump has a few additional details on PSP's Final Fantasy IV Complete Collection.
Complete Collection combines a remake of 1991's Final Fantasy IV with 2008's Final Fantasy The After Years sequel, all on one UMD. Previously, it was revealed that the game would have redone graphics, a new scenario connecting FFIV and The After, and a gallery mode of some form.
Jump reveals this week that the FFIV The After Years component will receive an original opening movie. This is to be expected, given that the game was originally an episodic download release for cell phones and WiiWare, so it was lacking such luxuries. Regarding the gallery mode, the magazine says this will feature CG movies and illustrations related to FFIV and The After Years.
The big question is if the game will force you to play FFIV before starting The After Years -- something that's presumably on the mind of players who've played one of the many remakes of FFIV. Jump does not say how the two titles will be accessible.
As previously reported, Complete Collection will see release in Spring 2011.
