Macross Triangle Frontier Update
Details on the Academy Mode, the opening, and the limited edition.
One of the major new features for PSP's Macross Triangle Frontier is "Academy Mode." This mode lets players experience the world of Macross F from the perspective of a student at Mihoshi Academy. You'll build up your very own pilot and take part in events featuring characters and story elements from Macross F.
Your custom character has parameters for spirit, skill and body. These parameters will change depending on the actions you take. You can select from such areas "general studies," "maintenance," and "basic training." These categories trigger one of the game's 1,000 plus events. Prior to selection, the menu screen shows which characters will be involved in the coming event and what effect the event will have on your three parameters.
The pilot that you've raised in Academy Mode can be used in the game's Campaign Mode. In addition to all the Macross titles that appeared in Ace Frontier and Ultimate Frontier, Triangle Frontier adds Macross Frontier the Movie: Itsuwari no Utahime (The False Songstress) and Macross II.
Triangle Frontier of course retains all the functionality of predecessors, including replays, and custom soundtracks. In addition to this, you'll also find a convenient data install feature.
Joining the game's standard version will be the limited Itsuwari no Utahime Pack. This includes two UMD Video discs. One disc contains the 120 minute Itsuwari no Utahime movie. The other disc contains 90 minutes of bonus features, including a new CG movie and a cut of "Choujikuu Gekijou," a new anime which features chibi Macross F characters.
In addition to all these details on Academy Mode, Namco Bandai shared screens today from Triangle Frontier's opening.
