Malicious Gets an Update

Major update adds easy mode, control adjustments, story viewer and more.

Alvion shared today details on a major patch for Malicious, a downloadable PlayStation 3 exclusive action title. The patch is due for release on January 25 and consists of features that were highly requested by players.

Updates include:

EASY MODE

You can now select easy mode from the story mode's character select screen. This makes you more powerful as you advance through story mode and also makes adjustments to default Aura amount and Aura depletion levels. Those who play in easy mode will be unable to unlock certain modes and trophies.

BUTTON ASSIGN

You can select "Normal" and "Full Button" settings for controls. Normal keeps the controls the same as now. Full Button splits up some of the moves that were previously assigned to the same button, including Guard and Evade and High Movement and Quick Drop. You can also set camera speed and toggle auto target between on and off.

CAMERA ADJUST

Camera movement has been adjusted to make it so that you don't lose site of your character when you've targeted a large enemy. The game allows you to toggle the adjustment on and off and, as listed above, toggle automatic target switching.

BACKSTORY VIEWER

A backstory viewer that connects to the official site, accessible via the game's extra menu. The viewer has a zoom feature which Alvion says will make it easy to view even on SD monitors. Joining this, the game's in-game instruction manual also supports zoom.
