Armored Core V Screenshots
From Software is making some changes to its storied mech series. Get a first look here.
We shared details on Armored Core V yesterday via an interview with Toshifumi Nabeshima that appeared in this week's Famitsu. In case you missed the story, read it here.
Namco Bandai, who is publishing the game outside of Japan (From will be doing the honors in Japan, as usual), has shared high res screens of the game, so take a look below.
Armored Core V is set for PS3 and Xbox 360 release in Japan some time this year. International releases will follow in 2012.
Aside from the switch to roman numerals, the big difference between the AC5 that was announced last year and the ACV that's resurfacing this year appears to be in the area of online play. ACV is team based. You work with members of your team to defend your territory and take territory from foes.
You can see the main "conquest" screen along with a mission select screen here.
See the "Garage" option in the upper right? Famitsu confirmed that you'll be able to customize your garage with new objects as you advance in the game.
You can head out on missions with up to four other members of your team. Of this group of five, only four actually head out to the battle field. The fifth is an "operator," and acts in a support role, making use of a detailed readout screen like this:
The text at the lower left appears to be a readout of happenings -- units firing, targets being destroyed, unit status updates. Your units are identified by numbers.
Map controls shown at the bottom include L for movement, R for rotation, D-pad for size and so-forth.
There are plenty more online play details in our earlier preview, so be sure and give it a read!
