DOA Dimensions has a slightly different take on 'Figure Mode' from Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition.

Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition's figure mode lets you pit a lineup of figures against rivals you encounter via Street Pass. Dead or Alive Dimensions has a "Figure Mode" too, but it's a bit more literal to the name.

As detailed in this week's Famitsu, the Dimensions figure mode has players collect character figures. These figures are used for 3D photography shoots. You can set up the figures against a background of your choice, and snap away with a virtual camera to create 3D photos that are then saved to an album for future viewing.

It looks like Team Ninja has put quite a bit of effort into this mode. You'll find over 1,000 figure variations, with differences in poses, and clothing. Based off the screenshots in Famitsu, the figures appear to be extremely detailed.

When taking your 3D snaps, you can make precise on-the-spot adjustments. You can move the camera around and rotate the figure with the d-pad, change the focus point with the analogue slider, zoom in and out with X and Y, toggle the camera finder display, and snap away with the R button.

To view your photos, you access the game's "3D Photo Album" mode. This area of the game stores your 3D photos along with date and photographer information. You're of course free to delete photos that you don't like, so you can make this a collection of only your best snaps.

Joining the photo mode details, Famitsu has a look this week at the at the latest roster and stage lineup. The characters were all selectable in the game's Nintendo World demo version, but just for the record, the magazine shows Brad Wong, Gen Fu, Jann Lee, Lei Fang, Tina, Eliot, La Mariposa and Kokoro. On the stage front, the magazine shows Bio Lab, Hall and Helipad stages, along with the recently announced Metroid Other M ti-up stage.

The magazine also has a look at the story-driven Chronicle Mode, complete with lots of screens. These will hopefully become available online shortly.
