Ace Attorney Investigations 2 Tops the Charts

Slow sales week even with some major new releases.

Ace Attorney Investigations 2 topped the Media Create sales charts this week, besting some major new releases in what proved to be an overall slow week for game sales.

The Ace Attorney Investigations sequel sold over 130,000 units, double second place Macross Triangle Frontier, and triple third place White Knight Chronicles Portable.

All these games are sequels, so we can look at past entries to see how they compare. The original Ace Attorney Investigations sold 172,000 units in its first week in June of 2009. PS3's Macross Trial Frontier sold 153,000 units in its first week in October of last year, although the PS3 title was the only way to get the Blu-Ray version of the Macross F Itsuwari no Utahime movie. White Knight Chronicles 2 debuted on the PS3 with 176,000 units in July of last year.

Other new entries in the top 20 include Dragon Ball Kai, in fourth with 31,000 units, and Atelier Violet, in 20th with 6,000 units.

Here's the full top 20 covering January 31 through February 6, as passed along at 4Gamer.
