Tales of the World and Samurai Warriors Vie for Number 1

PSP sales rebound, presumably as Sony gets more supplies out to retailers.

Favorite Tales series characters gather for the PSP's third Radiant Mythology game.

Sony platforms dominated the sales charts this week as both PSP and PS3 saw major releases that sold 200,000 plus copies each, and PSP finally appeared to recover from hardware shortages.

Tales of the World Radiant Mythology 3 was the top selling game for the week, with 222,068 sales. This is about similar to ToW RM2, which topped the charts in January 2009 with sales of 212,765 units. (See that sales report here).

Taking second place this week was Samurai Warriors 3Z with 208,548 sales. The PS3 update to Wii's Samurai Warriors 3 adds in all the content form the Wii version's Xtreme Legends edition, which also debuted this week at sixth with 22,598 sales. The Wii version of the original Samurai Warriors 3 debuted in December 2009 with a little over 110,000 units.

Also in the top ten this week were LittleBigPlanet 2 and Red Dead Redemption Undead Nightmare with respectively 24,648 and 21,718 units. The original LBP sold 51,705 back in October 2008. The original Red Dead Redemption debuted in fourth with 70,599 units in October 2010.
