Nikkei Confirms 400,000 Shipment for 3DS
System sells out, paper confirms.
We've been hearing for some time now unofficial reports of an initial shipment of 400,000 units for 3DS. The Nihon Keizai Shimbun online edition confirmed this today, saying that the system received an initial shipment of a little over 400,000 units and this pretty much sold out.
As previously reported, Nintendo plans 1.5 million systems for Japan by the March 31 end of the fiscal year. Worldwide, the system will see shipments of 4 million by the end of the fiscal year.
The remaining 1.1 million Japanese units may not be too far off. We already found one retailer, the large Tsutaya outlet in Shibuya, that was taking pre-orders last night for a shipment arriving today!
