PlayStation Home Tops Two Million Accounts Domestically
Sony celebrating with new campaign and version 1.5 update.
Sony Computer Entertainment Japan announced today that the PlayStation Home virtual space has topped the 2 million account mark domestically as of March 3.
To commemorate the feat, Sony will be holding a campaign from March 10 through March 31. Some virtual items will be discounted to half price. Those who spend at least ¥500 on virtual product will be entered into a lottery to win one of fifty ¥10,000 PlayStation Network tickets.
In its announcement, Sony also made note of the service's update to version 1.5. Announced at the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco earlier this week, the version 1.5 update improves the service's physics engine, animation and graphics, and network functionality. Home developers will also be able to make things like race games and first person shooters. The update will be released this Spring.
